A 37-week gestational age female infant was born by spontaneous vaginal delivery and had diffuse superficial reticulated erythematous erosions and atrophic plaques involving most of her cutaneous surface (figure 1A). She was vigorous at birth with Apgar scores of 9 and 9 at 1 and 5 min, respectively, afebrile and hemodynamically stable.
