We have seen a similar case of urinary ascites in a neonate due to renal candidiasis as Ku et al.[1]
Our patient also had a good outcome following drainage of the ascites, nephrostomy insertion and extended antifungal treatment. We would suggest that intraperitoneal extravasation, manifest as a perinephric urinoma or as urinary ascites, may act as a “pop-off” mechanism to release the p...
