There is an increasing awareness of neonatal thromboembolic events,1 2 with predisposing factors including sepsis, dehydration, asphyxia, indwelling central lines, prematurity, paradoxical embolism and inherited thrombophilia.3–5 Common sites of thrombosis include the cerebral vessels, abdominal aorta, renal vessels and rarely pulmonary arteries.3 We report the case of a premature infant (27+6 weeks gestation) who presented with persistent pulmonary hypertension and a right pulmonary artery (RPA) thrombus.
