Long-term outcomes for monochorionic twins after laser therapy in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome
2018, The Lancet Child and Adolescent HealthCitation Excerpt :The higher the PWV, the stiffer an artery is. Our pilot study61 of TTTS survivors treated by amnioreduction showed increased PWV in conduit arteries in donor twin infants at a mean age of 11 months when directly compared with their recipient twin. This study also described increased inter-twin pair discordance in PWV with increased duration of TTTS (ie, the longer the duration of TTTS, the greater the discordance in PWV) and prompted an expansion of this study.
