    The presence of two recommendations (risk-based screening vs. culture-based screening) led to a consensus agreement by the AAP, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), for which guidelines were published in 1996.4–6 Since the adoption of the 1996 consensus guidelines for IAP in the United States, the incidence of GBS EOS has declined by 65% (1.7‰ to 0.6‰).4,7 Maternal GBS screening plus IAP has been used in Taipei Mackay Memorial Hospital (TPMMH) since October 2004.
