The quality of bone at the femur neck and lumbar spine was measured using DEXA, which is currently considered the preferred method for assessment of osteoporosis in clinical settings because of its accuracy, precision, and ease and speed of scanning [17,18]. Studies on human trabecular bone have supported the strong correlation between apparent BMD and bone strength [19,20].
