EIU indicates antibody titre and it is obtained when the optical density (OD) of the sample in dilution 1:200 is compared with the OD of the positive control and multiplied by 100. Values ⩾ 100 are considered high and values ⩽20 negative in serum, and <5 negative in CSF.
