A term neonate was hospitalised for progressive abdominal distension and delayed meconium passage on his third day of life.

The abdominal plain film showed a huge dilated bowel loop in the right and upper third of the abdomen, and the contrast enema revealed distal microcolon with arrest of the contrast agent at the site of transverse colon (figure 1).
