We read with interest the review by Menon and Williams.1 They summarise what is known and what is unknown about the use of human milk (HM) in the preterm infant. Although we commend the authors for their comprehensive review, they have overlooked two important issues that may have the unintended consequence of discouraging clinicians from prescribing donor milk (DM) when the mother's own milk is unavailable.
