I read the article by Pignotti1 on European recommendations for the treatment of extremely premature infants in various countries. In her article, Pignotti states that official documents suggest that palliative care only is offered to newborns of extremely low gestational age. In her table on neonatal care she claims that in Florence palliative care is given to infants born between 22 and 24 weeks’ gestational age.
