Intestinal associations of a single umbilical artery

A female term infant was born by spontaneous vaginal delivery following an uncomplicated antenatal course. At 30 h of age, she developed bile vomiting. There had been no spontaneous passage of meconium. On examination, she appeared well with a distended, soft abdomen. An abdominal radiograph showed marked intestinal dilatation with no distal gas.
